What can you eat on the HCG Diet? Part 2
Go Back to What can you eat on the HCG Diet? Part 1
So, here is Dr. Simeons’ answer to “What can you eat on the HCG Diet?,” specifically on the HCG VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet) Phase of the HCG Diet.
HCG VLCD Breakfast:
Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours. Saccharin (brand name Sweet ‘n’ Low) or allowable HCG Safe stevia may be used.
HCG VLCD Lunch:
HCG Protein Choices: 3.5 oz. of veal, beef (such as filet, sirloin, tender tips, ground round), chicken breast, fresh white fish (such as cod, tilipia, orange roughy), lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna*, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be off the bone. *We have found through working with thousands of clients that canned tuna packed in water is okay. We believe that Dr. Simeons said tuna was not allowed because in the 50’s tuna was possibly only packed in oil.
HCG VLCD Vegetable Choices: One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes (premade HCG tomato sauce are allowed, such as HCG Tomato Italiano Sauce & HCG Chili Sauce), celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.
**You cannot use any normal salad dressings on your lettuce. We do offer some HCG safe salad dressings made specifically for those on the HCG Diet here.
HCG VLCD Breadstick Choices: One grissini breadstick (breadstick Grissino), one Melba toast, or 2 Melba “snacks” (original, garlic, whole grain, or sesame flavored for the Melbas)
HCG VLCD Fruit Choices: An apple or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit or 1 orange.
HCG VLCD Dinner:
The same four choices allowed in the HCG P2 lunch.
