The Last 72 hours of the VLCD Phase of the HCG Diet

  • For the final 72 hours on the HCG diet (after your minimum of 21 days on the HCG and VLCD), you must stop taking your HCG and continue following the 500 calories / VLCD for 3 more days or you will gain weight.
  • Doing this is very important.

Common Things During the First 3-5 Days on the VLCD Phase

  • Loss of 2-3 lbs the first day on VLCD and then about 1 lb thereafter.
  • Headache (you can take aspirin for that) as your body is detoxing from sugars, starches, etc that you would typically have eaten.
  • Mild hunger, even stomach growls – but don’t worry it will subside around day 4 or 5.
