Natural and Artificially Flavored Drinks on the HCG Diet
Posted by
onCoffee and tea, the only allowable beverages listed in Dr. Simeons’ manuscript other than water, can wreak havoc on your HCG Diet weight loss if you make the wrong choices.
The most important thing to remember when it comes to choosing coffee and tea on the VLCD of the HCG Diet is to KEEP IT SIMPLE. When coffee or tea is “flavored,” it should be a big red flag. When something is flavored, it has had something added to it like a natural or artificial flavor, an extract, or a sugar or artificial sweetener. And, of course, none of these additions are allowed in Phase 2 of the HCG Diet.
To keep you safe from HCG Diet stall-causing coffees and teas, simply read the ingredients list on the back of the package. If the ingredients list anything more than just “coffee” (Arabica coffee, Robusta coffee, etc.) or “tea” (Green tea, Black tea, Oolong tea, etc.), it probably isn’t a good idea.
But don’t worry, if you’re looking for some extra flavor in your coffee and tea, there’s always stevia! Although there are “natural flavors” in the flavored stevias we carry; we have tested them to know they don’t affect weight loss on the HCG Diet. So, don’t take chances with your weight loss. Just add a few drops of 100% HCG Diet-approved Sweetleaf® Chocolate, English Toffee, Hazelnut, or Clear Stevia in your coffee, tea or water to keep your taste buds satisfied.
