Hunger on the Diet?
Posted by
onSlight hunger while on Phase 2 of the diet is a common side effect and is normal... We’ve found three main reasons for hunger on the diet. Here are some solutions we’ve found that help the most.
DRINK! It’s the first week of the VLCD and your body is just getting used to the diet. Solution: Drink more liquid (diet-safe water, coffee, or tea), make diet-safe smoothies with your fruit serving and a ton of ice, eat as much lettuce, spinach, celery or other allowed veggies as you want in each sitting.
It’s psychological. You just want food even though you don’t need it. Solution: Remind yourself of your weight loss goals and that the VLCD is only for a short while and the results are so WORTH IT!
Split up for food... You may split your fruits and/or grissini breadstick away from your main 'meals'. Remember the protein servings and vegetable servings must stay together for lunch and dinner.
If you are splitting up your meals, an example of your daily menu may look like this:
- 7:00 am — 1 cup plain black coffee with stevia and a tbsp of milk. 1 medium-sized apple.
- 10:00 am — 1 grissini breadstick.
- 12:00 pm — 100 grams of boneless, skinless chicken breast, and a cucumber.
- 3:00 pm — 1 medium-sized orange, 1 grissini breadstick.
- 6:00 pm — 100 grams of lean steak, 2 cups or more of baby spinach with lemon squeezed over the top.
Just make sure that when you split your fruit or grissini away from your meals that you do NOT eat it at your meal too.
If you’re hungry all the time even after trying the above fixes. Solution: There’s a slight possibility that you may need to increase your dose. We suggest our customers consider increasing their dose from .5 ccs three times per day to .6 ccs three times per day to see if that helps. IMPORTANT: If you increase your dose unnecessarily, you will gain! So, make sure that you’re increasing your dose for the right reason and take it one day at a time.
