How to Dye Your Eyebrows Using Natural Ingredients

Posted by Health Conscious Guru on

Store-bought makeup can be expensive, and it might not even be what you're looking for. Well, if you're looking to dye your eyebrows, you're in luck. There's a couple different methods of fixing up your eyebrows in the color you want. All these use natural materials and don't require that much work. Here's how to dye your eyebrows using natural ingredients.

Choose a Dye Color

The first step is choosing what color you're going for. Do you want your eyebrows to match your hair, or do you want them a few shades darker? Do you want a completely different hue? This decision will indicate which specific ingredients you're going to want to use.

Brown or Dark Brown

If you want a brown or dark brown brow color, then these are the steps you want to take.

  1. Mix together two tablespoons of coffee grounds and one teaspoon of cocoa powder. Adjust the amounts of each ingredient to suit your liking. Having more coffee will cause a darker color, while more cocoa will create the opposite effect.
  2. Add in around two tablespoons of coconut oil, a tablespoon of honey, and some aloe vera gel. Mix these about until you've got the consistency of a paste. The coconut oil works as a natural sanitizing substance, while the honey is a skin healer. The aloe vera soothes the skin and stops any irritation. Make sure you're not allergic to any of these ingredients! You don't want to turn your face into a puffy mess. Let the mixture sit in its bowl for five minutes before you apply it.
  3. Use a spoolie or a small wooden stick to apply your homemade dye. Starting from the inner brow, move out while filling in the center of your eyebrows first. After you've done that, clean up the edges for full coverage. Keep the paste on for fifteen to thirty minutes. This is a longer wait time than for a store-bought kit, but the natural ingredients take a while to bind. If you want a darker color, wait longer before removing the dye.
  4. Remove the mixture with a wet cotton ball or paper towel. Repeat this process every three to four weeks to keep up that perfect tint.

Reddish Brown

If you're trying to find out how to dye your eyebrows using natural ingredients, organic henna powder might be a good choice. Henna gives a more orangish hue to your hairs, so if that's what you're looking for, perfect!

  1. Mix two tablespoons of organic henna powder with some water in a bowl, and remove any clumps by stirring.
  2. If you're worried about staining your skin, you can spread some waxelene (a natural alternative to petroleum jelly) around your eyebrows to make sure your forehead doesn't turn orange.
  3. To apply, repeat the same process as you would for a brown or dark brown tint.
  4. Since henna paste can get dry and flaky, spread a couple pieces of cling wrap on each eyebrow to keep the moisture from leaking out. Keep the wrap on for about three hours or even longer if you want a darker hue.
  5. Take off the cling wrap and wash off the henna paste with warm water.

Black

If you want a really dark color for your eyebrows, activated charcoal may be your best friend!

  1. Mix together a tablespoon of activated charcoal and aloe vera gel. Let the mixture sit for five minutes before applying it to your eyebrows.
  2. Using a cotton ball, apply the paste to your eyebrows and let your hairs absorb the dye for around half-an-hour.
  3. Carefully wash of the paste with warm water.

So, whether you're looking for a brown, reddish-brown, or jet-black eyebrow tint, this guide has you covered! Hopefully you've enjoyed this handbook on how to dye your eyebrows using natural ingredients.
