Cheaters Never Prosper – Cheating on the Diet
Posted by
onThe Very Low-Calorie Diet (VLCD), also known as Phase 2, can be a real challenge and some of us will occasionally make mistakes or give in to temptation. Cheating happens. What really matters is how we deal with it.
On the diet, a single little cheat can result in several pounds of punishment. On average, it takes 3 to 5 days to recover from a diet cheat. This means, you have to deal with both the physical and mental weight you gained. The best way to move on is to acknowledge your mistake, own up to the fact that you are facing a minor setback, and get back on the horse!
The worst thing you can do is let your cheat defeat you. So, stay strong and know that you have the power to lose the weight you gained, and remind yourself that the diet will be over in no time.
It’s best to aim for at least 21, consecutive, non-cheating days on the VLCD. So if you can, try and get these 21 days in after your cheat if you didn’t have them in before. It’s tough, but it’s also important in correctly resetting your metabolism.
Have you cheated on the diet before? What did you do to recover?
