Health Conscious Guru Diet Mexican Steak
- 6 oz. lean steak
- 1/8 tsp. cumin
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. chili powder
- non-stick spray
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 of an onion, diced
- 1 tbsp. cilantro, chopped
- 1 tbsp. fresh squeezed lime juice
- jalapeno (optional)
Prepare this recipe by first making this mexican salsa. Place tomato, onion, cilantro, lime juice, and jalapeno in a blender or food processor. Pulse until combined.
Next, make the steak rub by stirring together the cumin, garlic powder, pepper, salt, and chili powder in a bowl. Spread steak rub on both sides of meat.
Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat and spray with non-stick spray. Once skillet is warm, sear both sides of the steak for 45-60 seconds. Cover and turn the skillet temperature to low. Cook the steak for another 3-6 minutes depending on the size of steak. Allow the steak to cool for 2 minutes before slicing. Top with Mexican salsa, serve, and enjoy.
